FAPS Brass Band & Choir
The FAPS Brass Band came into being as a small ensemble of twelve students in 1988. Since then it has grown and blossomed under the able guidance of its Conductor - V Narayanaswamy, into a well knit and reputed band.
This talented group of young musicians has repeatedly won accolades and prizes at iner-school competitions. It has also performed at various schools and at inter-school concerts. The band's repertoire covers a wide range from marches and hymns to contemporary music. The Band has played at Sunday Mass at Marthoma Church, at the function for the second anniversary of the volvo in Bangalore and on All India Radio.
In recent years, the band has started going carol playing to the Home for the Aged. At the world festival of sacred music organised by the Tibet House and Foundation for the universal Responsibility His Holiness, The Dalai Lama, the band was a group to watch. Artistes from all around the world came down to perform at this memorable event. The band also played at the inauguration and closing ceremonies of the Karnataka State Hockey Association Meet.
The Band and the Choir are part of the morning FAPS assembly. The Band has been an integral part of our Annual Athletic Meet and the Speech Day. The Choir performs at our Valedictory Function and Speech Day.
